SURGERY
We perform all routine surgery like neutering ,lump removal and suturing wounds, but also more complex soft tissue surgery. On admitting your animal we will check its weight, gums, heart and dogs will get a sedative and painkiller. For older animals we recommend a pre-anaesthetic blood test, to check for any liver or kidney problems and for diabetes. (This can be done on the morning of surgery.) We use modern anaesthetic techniques with a very safe short acting injectable agent (propofol), followed by inhalation anaesthesia (isoflurane) for all dogs and most cats. During surgery your animal will be connected to a pulse oximeter, which measures your animals pulse rate and the oxygenation of its blood. Most animals will be able to go home a few hours after surgery.
